Kofi Annan's NGO, The Africa Progress Panel needed a website redesign. As head of projects at Media Frontier, I worked with the client to ensure the new website would answer all their objectives. The result is quite beyond anything they excepted originally.
The Africa Progress Panel (APP) consists of ten distinguished individuals from the private and public sector who advocate for equitable and sustainable development for Africa. Mr Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel laureate, chairs the APP and is closely involved in its day-to-day work.
Thanks to a thorough user-review and information architecture process, we were able to prioritise the content according to the users' desires. We realised the yearly report was the most important aspect of the website and needed to differentiate itself from the rest of the content. Moreover, we recommended to offer the report in chapters for users with slow Internet connectivity.
The new website design shows how Kofi Annan's organisation manages to be up to date with the modern times while maintaining it's knowledge and roots. The editorial look and feel puts content at the forefront with great imagery. The coloured sections allow users to never get lost and the responsive design means users will always have a great experience on any device.
